Informational Purpose and Not Therapy or Medical Advice

The information on this website is provided for general educational and informational purposes only. Website articles, service descriptions, downloads, videos, social media content and other materials are not therapy, diagnosis, medical advice, crisis intervention, individualized professional recommendations or a substitute for consultation with a qualified healthcare professional.

Mental health information is not universally applicable. You should not rely on website content to diagnose or treat a mental health or medical condition. Decisions concerning your care should be made in consultation with an appropriately licensed professional who understands your individual circumstances.

Do not disregard professional advice or delay seeking care because of something you read on this website.

No Therapist-Client Relationship

Accessing this website, reading or downloading its content, following the practice on social media, joining an email list, submitting an inquiry or contacting the practice does not create a therapist-client relationship with Peak City Psychology or any of its clinicians.

A therapist-client relationship is established only after:

  • The practice determines that it can appropriately provide the requested services

  • You are matched with and accepted by a clinician

  • Required intake and informed-consent documents are completed

  • The clinician agrees to begin providing treatment

Submitting a contact form does not guarantee acceptance as a client or availability with a particular clinician.

Emergencies and Crisis Services

This website, email, social media accounts and website forms are not monitored continuously and should not be used for emergencies or urgent clinical needs.

If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, believe you may harm yourself or someone else or need immediate assistance:

  • Call 911

  • Call or text the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline

  • Go to the nearest emergency department

  • Contact an appropriate local crisis-response service

Peak City Psychology does not provide emergency or crisis-response services through this website.

Geographic and Licensure Limitations

Therapy is provided only when the client is physically located in a state or jurisdiction where the treating clinician is legally authorized to practice.

Unless otherwise specifically stated, the therapy services described on this website are intended for individuals located in North Carolina, except as described below for clinicians who participate in PSYPACT. A visitor's ability to access this website from another state or country does not mean that Peak City Psychology or its clinicians may provide clinical services in that location.

Some Peak City Psychology clinicians participate in the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT), which allows eligible licensed psychologists to provide telepsychology to clients located in other participating PSYPACT states. This authority applies only to individual clinicians who hold the required PSYPACT authorization and only to the services and states the compact permits. It does not apply to every clinician at the practice and not every state participates. A client must be physically located in North Carolina or an eligible PSYPACT state at the time of each session. Please confirm eligibility with the practice before scheduling.

Clinician Credentials and Availability

Peak City Psychology works to keep clinician credentials, specialties, services and availability current. This information may change and does not guarantee that a particular clinician is accepting clients or is appropriate for a particular concern. Clinician credentials, licensure status, areas of practice and availability may differ. Please review the individual clinician's biography and confirm current information with the practice.

No Guaranteed Outcomes

Therapy is individualized and outcomes vary according to individual circumstances, clinical needs, participation, therapeutic fit and many other factors. Peak City Psychology does not promise or guarantee that a particular therapy service, clinician, treatment method, educational resource or recommendation will produce a specific result.

References to treatment approaches, potential benefits, research or client experiences are informational and are not promises or guarantees of outcome.

Appointments and Services

Information regarding clinicians, appointment availability, fees, insurance participation, treatment approaches and services may change. Website information does not guarantee:

  • Availability with a particular clinician

  • Acceptance into the practice

  • Insurance eligibility, coverage or reimbursement

  • A particular diagnosis, treatment recommendation or result

  • That a particular service is appropriate for your needs

Clinical services are governed by separate informed-consent documents, financial policies, privacy notices and other practice agreements. If these terms conflict with an applicable clinical agreement or the Notice of Privacy Practices, the clinical agreement or Notice of Privacy Practices will control with respect to treatment and protected health information.

Insurance and Financial Information

Any information about insurance, reimbursement, fees or out-of-network benefits is general information and is not a guarantee of payment or coverage. Your health plan determines your coverage and benefits, which vary by plan. You are responsible for confirming coverage, deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, authorization requirements, out-of-network benefits and your individual financial obligations directly with your insurer.

Forms and Electronic Communications

Peak City Psychology provides encrypted pathways for initial inquiries. This contact form is not designed for personal health information. Please submit only the information reasonably necessary for the practice to respond to your request and save clinical details for when you connect directly with the practice.

Do not use website forms, email, text messages or social media to communicate an emergency.

Although Peak City Psychology uses reasonable safeguards, no electronic communication method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Ordinary email and social media messaging may not provide the same privacy protections as the secure client portal.
